IT Consulting & Cybersecurity Insights: (Germany, UK, and US)
As cybersecurity threats continue to evolve, organizations are required to make increasingly complex technology decisions—often under tight timelines and across distributed environments. Our client sought to understand how cybersecurity decisions are made within IT consulting firms and across key industries operating in Germany, the UK, and the United States.
Vertex Expert Network supported this initiative by connecting the client with senior IT leaders who hold direct responsibility for cybersecurity strategy, solution evaluation, and vendor partnerships. The objective was to capture practical, experience-based insights that could inform partner strategy and market development across regions.
Client Objective
The primary objective of this study was to gain a deeper understanding of how cybersecurity technologies are evaluated, selected, and implemented by senior decision-makers.
The client aimed to explore:
- How IT consulting firms assess cybersecurity vendors and partnership programs
- How organizations across priority industries manage internal cybersecurity practices
- What factors influence decision-making in multi-site and multi-market environments
Rather than relying on secondary data, the client sought direct input from leaders actively involved in cybersecurity decisions.
Our Approach
Vertex applied a targeted recruitment and engagement strategy to ensure relevance and depth.
We sourced senior IT executives including VPs, Directors, and other decision-makers from IT consulting firms as well as organizations across manufacturing, retail, healthcare, education, and hospitality. All participants were screened to confirm cybersecurity expertise, decision-making authority, organizational scale, and experience managing distributed operations.
Each expert participated in a 60-minute one-on-one interview designed to capture detailed insights into internal practices, technology selection criteria, and partnership experiences.
Research Execution
The study was executed efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality and compliance.
Vertex managed end-to-end project coordination, including expert verification, scheduling, and interview execution. The project launched and concluded within a fourteen-day timeframe, enabling the client to access timely insights without compromising depth.
Outcome & Impact
The engagement delivered actionable insights across two key groups.
From IT consulting firms, the client gained clarity on partnership expectations, program awareness, and prior vendor experiences. From enterprise organizations, insights focused on internal cybersecurity practices, technology adoption patterns, and challenges associated with managing security across multiple locations.
These findings enabled the client to refine partner strategies, tailor solutions, and strengthen positioning across European and U.S. markets.
Client Value
By engaging directly with senior IT leaders across three major markets, the client replaced assumptions with market-validated intelligence. The insights supported informed, data-driven decision-making and provided a stronger foundation for growth and expansion in an increasingly complex cybersecurity landscape.
